The ingredients needed to make Dhaniya kulambu:
  1. Prepare 3 tbsp dhaniya
  2. Get 2 tbsp pepper
  3. Prepare 1 1/2 tbsp Jeera
  4. Take 1 tsp Methi
  5. Prepare 3-4 dry red chillies
  6. Prepare 1 big lemon size tamarind soaked in water
  7. Take Pinch Hing
  8. Get 1 tsp mustard seeds
  9. Prepare 1 tsp methi
  10. Get 4 tbsp Til Oil (Gingely oil)
  11. Get Handful Curry leaves, pinch of hing
  12. Prepare As per taste Salt
  13. Make ready 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Make ready As required Jaggery

Steps to make Dhaniya kulambu:
  1. In a pan add dhaniya, pepper, jeera and Methi. On low flame dry roast all the above ingredients. Then at last add red chillies and dry roast it. Allow it to cool and then grind it to a coarse powder.
  2. In kadai add 2 tbsp oil when it turns hot add mustard seeds, methi, hing and curry leaves. Then add the tamarind extract from soaked tamarind. Allow it to boil.
  3. Now add required salt, turmeric powder and little Jaggery. Then add the grinded coarse powder and mix well. Allow it to boil till the gravy thickens.
  4. To enhance the flavour add a tsp of sambar powder. As the gravy thickens remove from flame. Add remaining 2tbsp of oil to this kulambu so that this gravy will last for more time.
  5. Enjoy this delicious Dhaniya Kulambu with hot rice. This kulambu will remain good for 2 to 3 days.
